What is a trademark?

A trademark is a sign consisting of words, numbers, characters, and graphic symbols used to distinguish a product or service. It is registered in the trademark register located at the Industrial Property Office. The trademark owner can be any natural or legal person. By registering a trademark, the owner also acquires the right to use its mark (®), which may be placed on the packaging after the mark, expression, or directly on the statement to which the trademark relates.

Why register a trademark?

By registering a trademark, its owner acquires an exclusive right to use the given designation. No other person may use the sign-in business without the consent of the trademark owner. This gives a clear signal to your business partner that by working with you, he is getting a real original and not an imitation. This allows you to have a legal monopoly in the area in the market.

With the trademark, you also get the right to use the ® brand on your products. However, owning a trademark is not just a manifestation of your image, it is primarily a manifestation of your ability to be exceptional and successful in your area of business. Once registered, a trademark becomes part of your property immediately, and as your business grows, so does its value. This is the good name of your company.
